Groups that I'm a part of
- I have played soccer at the club Real Colorado since I was 5 years old, and have been playing there ever since.
- I am currently the team captain on Real's third team, but working hard to move up to the second team.
- Last year (2013), I tried out for a soccer program in Colorado called Olympic Development Program, or ODP for short. In this program, boys from all over the state come and tryout for 3 days, and after that, from the hundreds of kids that try out the coaches choose thirty kids to be in the players pool, and from there, before tournaments, the coaches choose sixteen boys to travel and play in the tournament. Last year when I tried out, I made the pool, and then the travelling team, and flew to Arizona in January of 2014. After that, we had a few practices here and there, and in June, there was a regional camp in Prescott AZ that I attended. Tryouts are coming up and I plan on making the team again!
- The beginning of this semester (August, 2014), began a whole new chapter in my life of trying new things.
- Last semester, I tried out for Jubilate Choir at my school, and made it, and I am currently learning and preparing to perform. My choir is planning on going on many in and out of state performances throughout the duration of the school year.
- I am currently playing soccer for my school, as a starter and finisher at center midfield. I have scored 4 goals, and assisted 5 goals so far.
- I am currently a part of a program in my school called Lights Academy. This program is not like your conventional high school class. In here, along with 14 other Juniors and Seniors, our teacher Mr Black is teaching us how to have a 360 degree point of view on everything we see (not just accept it as what we initially see it as, but to learn every aspect of that particular thing, and see it in that light consistently). Most people will just look at something like a baseball stadium and say "that's cool" without ever giving it a second thought, and while some other people may wonder about the baseball stadium, they won't pursue answers to the questions they asked themselves. In Lights Academy, we are learning to not only ask questions about rather normal stuff, but to do deep research on it to learn as much as possible. The first event/place we used to begin looking at with a 360 degree point of view, was Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Over the last few weeks, I have been doing extensive research on questions about Coors Field concessions, security, and seating.
